What Is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative psychiatry is about looking at you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms or a diagnosis.

Instead of only asking, “What medication do we use?”, we also ask:

  • How are you sleeping?
  • What’s your stress level like?
  • Are hormones, medical issues, or past experiences playing a role?
  • How are food, movement, and daily habits affecting your mood and energy?

Medication can absolutely be helpful, and we will use it when it makes sense. But it doesn’t have to be the only tool. Together, we can also look at:

  • Sleep and daily routines
  • Stress and coping skills
  • Nutrition and gut health
  • Gentle movement and activity
  • When appropriate, lab work and supplements that can be safely added to your current medications

The goal of integrative psychiatry is to understand why you’re feeling the way you do and to build a plan that supports both your mind and body. We’ll talk through your options, move at a pace that feels comfortable, and make decisions together—so your treatment fits your real life and your values, not a one-size-fits-all model.
